Celebrating 40 years in the music industry, Canto-pop legend George Lam will perform at the Arena of Stars, Genting Highlands on 17 September 2016 at 8:30.
At 68, Lam is still a bundle of energy and charisma, Lam kick-started his anniversary tour at the Hong Kong Coliseum, selling out all four nights. Lam is always an excellent judge of what his audiences want to hear. In his concert, he sang several of his hits but he didn’t just ride the nostalgia train but instead, he used different arrangements for his past hits to give audience new connotations. His power-packed vocal easily makes one resonate for a long while!
Lam also shared his emotional and teary moments during the concert and much interaction occurred between Lam and his audience which made his concert experience more like a gathering with old friends. Lam revealed, “A live concert is one of my favorite parts because of all the electricity generated in the crowd and onstage.”
Lam appreciates every performance opportunity and he is passionately involved in choreographing this new tour production. He even personally designed the tour poster! All effort put into the work is simply with one ultimate thought - to give his fans a stunning performance.
For the past four decades, Lam and his songs remained highly popular in Hong Kong and he won several awards at the RTHK Top 10 Gold Songs Awards, Hong Kong’s longest-running and most reputable award show. In 1994, in recognition of his numerous contributions to the music scene, Lam was awarded the Golden Needle Award, the highest form of recognition in the Hong Kong music industry.
